Who Spends What? Niagara Falls Initiative

The Partnership's Who Spends What? Niagara Falls initiative was undertaken at the request of Niagara Falls Mayor Irene Ilia to help restore the city's financial health. Niagara Falls had experienced two consecutive years of budget deficits and a 15% property tax increase.

A team of volunteers, under the leadership of Partnership board member and Niagara University President Reverend Joseph Levesque as chairman and Partnership Public Policy Manager Kenneth Vetter reviewed the city's management and service operations.

The commission's six month review resulted in a series of 23 recommendations which, if implemented in their entirety, would bring $15 million in annual savings to taxpayers.
