The Partnership

August 7, 2024

We are pleased to welcome Evan Barrick, Manager, Business Intelligence, as our latest Staff Spotlight.

In his role, Evan supports the Buffalo Niagara Partnership and its members by ensuring that the organization's data is accurate and current, utilizing various data sources to help the BNP make smart, data-based decisions.

Get to know Evan in this brief Q&A.

What is your background in/what type of work were you in before the BNP?

After obtaining my MBA from St. Bonaventure University, my work experience has ranged from customer service in the financial and tech industries to data visualization and reporting in the sports and entertainment industry.

How did your past experience prepare you for your current role at BNP?

Working in a few different roles and industries has given me perspective on different ways to use data. Finding the hidden nuggets of information within the data that an organization has can uncover new ways to engage and grow the business.

What inspired you to join the BNP team?

Being able to do something that I enjoy with an organization that supports the greater Buffalo Niagara region was a no-brainer.

Tell us a little-known fact about yourself.

I really enjoy and (I think) am pretty good at cooking. I like to try new recipes that I see on social media and, through this, have discovered foods that I like that I otherwise would never have tried.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like being outside as much as possible no matter the time of year. I also enjoy all that Buffalo has to offer in terms of places to see, trails to explore and places to eat.

Best hidden gem in Buffalo?

There are too many restaurants to list, so I will skip food. Our family really enjoys the Outer Harbor. Maybe it's not a secret, but each time we go we seemingly find a new place to walk or a new vantage point of the water.

What is your favorite part about living in the Buffalo area?

The proximity to everything. It's easy to get almost everywhere, there are tons of things to do and we live minutes from an international border.

What do you like best about a hybrid work schedule?

After being remote for a few years, I am enjoying having the balance of getting to know and interact with the team in-person, as well as the time spent working at home.
