Staff Spotlight: Meet Sarah Olivet

Blog Categories

We are pleased to welcome Sarah Olivet, Marketing Director as our latest Staff Spotlight.

In her role, Sarah supports the Buffalo Niagara Partnership and its members by leading the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives to enhance brand and program visibility, drive engagement, and support organizational growth.

Get to know Sarah in this brief Q&A.

What is your background in/what type of work were you in before the BNP?

I’ve worked in marketing across various industries, including banking, real estate, and travel. Most recently, I was with a Buffalo-based start-up called PostProcess Technologies, in the additive manufacturing (3D printing) space.

How did your past experience prepare you for your current role at BNP?

At my last job, I was part of a small team where we handled everything marketing-related—design, event planning, project launches, copywriting, and PR. That all-hands-on-deck experience helped me become a more well-rounded marketing professional. I'm excited to use this tackle box of skills to help raise awareness of the BNP’s incredible work in the business community.

What inspired you to join the BNP team?

My mom worked for the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce for 17 years, so I grew up seeing the impact chambers have on their local business communities. I’m excited to be part of the BNP and share all the amazing things they’re doing for Buffalo Niagara.

Tell us a little-known fact about yourself.

I love to sing and have performed in front of an audience of over 800 people!

What do you like to do for fun?

Music is a big part of my life—I play guitar and piano. I also love spinning classes (I’m a big Peloton fan) and crocheting in my free time.

Best hidden gem in Buffalo?

Taisho Bistro on Hertel. I’m a huge fan of ramen, especially when it starts to get cold, and they have some of the best!

What is your favorite part about living in the Buffalo area?

The community here is amazing. I’m constantly discovering new food spots and experiences all over WNY. There’s always something exciting happening!

What do you like best about a hybrid work schedule?

It’s the perfect balance. I get to collaborate with coworkers in the office and then have focus time working from home.
