Get to know Jessica in this quick Q&A!Â
What is your background in/what type of work were you in before the BNP?Â
I’ve dabbled in just about every corner of marketing and sales—industrial distribution, photography, manufacturing—you name it. For the last 13 years, I was the one-person powerhouse behind my own photography studio, handling everything from creative direction to bookkeeping (and probably fixing the printer more times than I’d like to admit).Â
How did your past experience prepare you for your current role at BNP?  Â
At my last job as a solopreneur, if it involved marketing it had my name on it—graphic design, event planning, product launches, copywriting, campaigns, social media strategy, and content creation. Juggling all these responsibilities gave me a 360-degree view of marketing and made me a stronger, more versatile professional. Now, I’m eager to roll up my sleeves and put these skills into action to elevate BNP’s incredible impact in the business community.Â
What inspired you to join the BNP team?Â
I was drawn to BNP because it allows me to combine my passion for visual storytelling with meaningful work that impacts the region I call home. Buffalo Niagara isn’t just where I grew up—it’s where I’m raising my family. Being part of an organization that drives regional development and supports local businesses means I get to contribute to a stronger future for my community and the next generation. That’s something I’m truly excited about.Â
Tell us a little-known fact about yourself.Â
Last summer I got into cycling, and rode my first 50-mile ride! I plan to tackle a century 100-mile ride in 2025.Â
What do you like to do for fun?Â
Anything having to do with water – liquid or frozen. I’ve always been drawn to it and have never lived far from a shoreline. In the summers we sail, paddleboard, and water ski. In the winters we snow ski and cross country ski.Â
Best hidden gem in Buffalo?Â
I was able to attend the Music is Art festival at the new Outerharbor location last summer. What a treat! Did you know it’s free?? 5+ stages of a constant rotation of performers for 12 hours and extremely family friendly. Highly suggested.Â
What is your favorite part about living in the Buffalo area?  Â
Buffalo really lives up to its reputation as the city of good neighbors. When I was learning to sail, the boating community welcomed me with open arms—seasoned sailors were always ready to lend a hand or share their knowledge. That same spirit of camaraderie isn’t just on the water; it’s woven into the neighborhoods and everyday life here.Â
What do you like best about a hybrid work schedule?  Â
It’s the perfect balance for me. At the office, I get to channel my extroverted energy, surrounded by incredible coworkers and a buzz of collaboration that keeps me energized. Then, on the days I work from home, I can dive into creative writing, embracing the quiet and giving my brain the space to fully stretch and explore new ideas. Â
